COVID-19 Updates

Wednesday April 21st, 2o21

Dear Ravine Family,

THE GREAT NEWS THAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR HAS ARRIVED!!! OPENING DAY IS MAY 1 ST, 2021!!!

Today we received confirmation from the by-law office of the Township of Essex that seasonal campgrounds are permitted to open. We are eager to open our doors to all of you.

Like last year, all seasonal campers must do the following before entering the park:

  • Go to the COVID-19 waiver page posted on our website to download, review, and sign the waiver form.

  • Email the completed waiver form to ravinecottages@gmail.com or bring it to the office upon your arrival.

  • Call ahead or email us to schedule a time for you to enter the park.

Please Note: Due to the current lockdown and stay-at-home order, we ask all members to follow and respect the directive outlined by the Ontario Government. As per the stay-at-home order, no gatherings inside or out are permitted with individuals outside of your household. All public facilities within the park will remain closed and off limits. This includes all common areas such as the washrooms, clubhouse, and pool area. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Please keep checking back to our Facebook page and website for updates:

If you have any further questions, contact us at ravinecottages@gmail.com or at (519) 738-2620.

We look forward to a great season and seeing you all very soon. Take care and stay well.

Dear Ravine Family,

First off all, we want to welcome you all to the park and thank you for your patience as well as understanding during the past couple weeks. We would also like to thank all of you who came into the office upon your arrival this past weekend, this has been very helpful.

For those of you whom have not yet been able to come out to the park, please remember to stop by the office when you enter for the first time this season. We continue to ask that you call (519) 738-2620 or email us at ravinecottages@gmail.com prior to entering the park to schedule an appointment so that you can review and sign both the COVID waiver and lease agreement.

This is a friendly reminder for all campers to continue following the government directive of maintaining social distancing of 6 feet as well as limit group gatherings to no more than 5 people. Please be aware that we are a senior’s park, and these extra measures need to be taken to ensure that all campers remain healthy and safe.

Dear Ravine Family,

We hope that everyone is remaining safe and well during this time.

We have some exciting news; recreational parks have received directive from the Ontario Government that they will be able to open their doors starting Saturday May 16th.  We are excited to finally get our 50th season started and to welcome our campers back into the park. However, to ensure the safety of our members, employees, and all our families, we ask the following of all our campers:

1. ALL SEASONAL campers must sign and submit a Covid-19 Release Waiver Form BEFORE entering the park. This is non-negotiable and will be enforced. Please download, review, sign, and email the form to ravinecottages@gmail.com or contact us at 519-738-2620 to set up a drop off time. There will be no set office hours, so those who need to drop off the form must set up an appointment time prior to entering the park. (24 hours’ notice is required).

*You will find the waiver below, please press the COVID-19 Waiver Button to download the form.*

2. ALL PUBLIC FACILITIES within the park will remain closed and off limits. This includes all common areas such as the washrooms, clubhouse, and pool area.  Seasonal campers must have trailers that are self-sufficient, equipped with workable and usable washrooms.

*Those campers on Hilltop or Oliver Lane will need to contact the office at 519-738-2620 to discuss their options.*

3. Campers must follow the government directive of maintaining social distancing of 6 feet and limit group gatherings to no more than 5 people (or as directed by the government). Please be aware that we are a senior’s park, and these extra measures need to be taken to ensure that all campers remain healthy and safe.

Please keep checking back to our Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/ravinecottages/ or our website www.ravinecottages.com  for updates. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at ravinecottages@gmail.com or at (519) 738-2620 .

Stay safe and we look forward to starting our 50th season with you all soon.

Dear Ravine Family,

We hope that everyone is remaining safe and well during this time.

We have received numerous e-mails and calls about the opening date of the campground, as of right now the park will not be opening on May 1st, 2020. This means that Ravine Cottages will not be starting the new season this upcoming Friday and will remain closed. We understand that this is disappointing to many of our valued campers; we were excited to get the season started as well. We do not have a date for when the campground will be able to be open as of yet, but will continue to monitor the situation and listen to government directives.

To our snowbirds with no other Canadian residency, on April 16th the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing released a directive stating that seasonal campgrounds that are in compliance with section 3.1 of Schedule 3 can be open to individuals who do not have another residence or accommodation. To be allowed entry into the park, snowbirds must have a self-sufficient trailer (i.e. water, hydro, septic) as well as documents demonstrating that they have of no other permanent residence. We ask that you contact management by phone or e-mail before entering the park to ensure that everything is set up prior to your arrival. If you are coming in from out of country, please follow the government mandated 14 day quarantine and remain in your trailer.

For the rest of you we hope that the emergency directive is lifted soon. In the meantime, we are busy preparing the campground so that when we receive the green light from the government we are ready to open our doors.

We hope that everyone is continuing to stay well and safe. We understand that you are all looking forward to the upcoming 2020 season, and we are too. Importantly, we would like to remind our valued campers that Ravine Cottages is not yet open. In the meantime, we are working hard to ensure that we are able to open the campground safely. To do this, we need your cooperation.

As per government guidelines, we are asking everyone to please stay at home and not visit the campground. We are doing this to align with the Ontario government's mandate to close public spaces and non-essential businesses, including seasonal campgrounds. If there is something that you need from your trailer/RV/mobile before the campground opens, we are asking that you please contact management to assist you. We are focused on preparing the park for the upcoming season, however, our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our campers as well as doing our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19.

We are hoping to be able to open the park by May 1st, however, it is not clear at this time when the government mandated closure of non-essential businesses will be lifted. We will continue to monitor the situation, and we look forward to welcoming all of you when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

Please keep checking back to our Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/ravinecottages/ or our website www.ravinecottages.com for weekly updates. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at ravinecottages@gmail.com or at (519) 738-2620 .

We sincerely thank you for understanding, and stay safe.

Dear Ravine Family,

We hope that everyone is well and staying safe during these uncertain times.

With our season quickly approaching, we are sure that there are lots of questions as to the opening date of the park. As of today, the park opening remains May 1, 2020. However since the situation with the COVID-19 virus is fluid this may change. For our Snowbirds without another home in the vicinity, we are hoping to have the park ready for you a week to two weeks early if needed. This however remains weather permitting and dependent on when we are able to turn on the water.  At this time we will be following the directives of federal, provincial and municipal authorities in our decisions (i.e. closure of public areas) as the health, safety and security of residents is a top priority. Social distancing is required, if you have recently returned from out of country please maintain a 14 day quarantine period. The health and wellbeing of all of our residents remains our top priority.

Please keep checking back to our Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/ravinecottages/  or our website www.ravinecottages.com  for weekly updates. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at ravinecottages@gmail.com or at (519) 738-2620.

We look forward to another great season. See you in May.

Stay safe and well.
